Ancient woodland - Affordable private woodlands

We don’t just buy any old wood. We search the country for prime, broad-leafed woodland, close to major towns, that is easily accessible. Ancient woodlands of this calibre come up for sale infrequently, so it is important to register your interest as early as possible – so that we can match your needs to what becomes available.

Here are just a few of the prime, ancient woodlands that are currently available in the South of England.

Over 14 Acres in Buckinghamshire
This is a rare opportunity for you to acquire a beautiful and ancient,
private wood close to Aylesbury. These woods are on a site that has been afforested since before 1600 AD and are of great conservation interest.

Fox Covert is an ancient, broadleaved wood containing a wide range of native deciduous trees. Ash is the principal species; growing from stools and as maiden trees. There are several large and ancient oak trees, cherry, sweet chestnut, sycamore, holly, elm and crab apple. The shrub layer includes hazel, blackthorn, hawthorn and elder. Many of these are over 100 years old. The ground flora is varied and wild flowers are profuse in spring and
summer.

Wildlife abounds throughout the wood and includes badgers, deer, squirrels and a variety of rare birds.

The wood is currently being renovated and revitalised by Forestry Commission approved tree surgeons to ensure that the wood remains in good heart for the future and continues to provide a good home to the wildlife that currently lives there.

There is easy roadside access and more than adequate parking for cars.

All sporting rights have been secured to ensure that nobody can hunt or
shoot on the wood, creating a safe haven for all of the creatures of the
forest.
